Providing Hope After the Floods – Thank You, Barbara

We are deeply grateful to Barbara for her generous donation of £250, which has once again helped us support a family facing severe hardship in Sri Lanka. Of this contribution, £170 has already been used to carry out urgent repairs for a vulnerable household affected by the recent floods and landslides.

The disaster left lasting damage across many rural communities, including families connected to Monaragala Saubaghya School. One such family— a mother and her two young children—saw their water motor destroyed and part of their boundary wall collapse during the floods. With the mother already struggling to support her children, these losses placed an even greater burden on an already difficult situation.

Thanks to Barbara’s kindness, we were able to step in quickly to provide essential assistance:

  • Repairing the damaged water motor, restoring their access to clean water
  • Rebuilding the collapsed boundary wall, helping to secure and protect their home

We have shared photographs of the family and the condition of their home so supporters can see the real impact of this contribution.

Barbara, your ongoing commitment as one of our most compassionate donors continues to strengthen our mission. Every time you choose to support us, children in rural Sri Lankan schools—including those who are deaf and blind—receive direct and meaningful help. Your generosity brings real change and restores hope where it is needed most.

Thank you, Barbara, for making a difference. Your kindness truly matters.

Project Update: Galle Neth Savan Sarana School Improvements

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the latest project carried out by Galle Neth Savan Sarana School, made possible through the generous support of our long‑standing donors Romie and Ranil.

The school received SLR 100,000.00, which has been carefully and effectively utilised to improve essential facilities for the children. With these funds, the school was able to:

  • Purchase new chairs for the students
  • Complete the painting of doors and frames
  • Cover the ceiling area of the children’s dining space, providing a safer and more comfortable environment

These improvements have created a brighter, cleaner, and more welcoming setting for the children, enhancing both their comfort and their overall well‑being.

A heartfelt thank you to Romie and Ranil for their generous donation and continued commitment to supporting educational and welfare projects. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in the lives of the children at Galle Neth Savan Sarana School.

KALUTARA – Horetuduwa – Sri Chandrasekara School for the Deaf

A Heartfelt Thanks to Mike Arnold for His Generous Donation along with BAME & Forty Club members.

Mike Arnold, during his recent visit to Sri Lanka, made a generous donation of $200 and £140, amounting to 111,640 Sri Lankan Rupees. This contribution was made on behalf of Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka, with the support of some players from the Forty Club.

These funds are being utilized to take the children of Kalutara—Horetuduwa, Sri Chandrasekara School for the Deaf on a special day trip. This wonderful initiative will provide the children with an enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

As the committee and members of Deaf and Blind Aid Lanka, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mike Arnold for his thoughtful donation and his continued support of our mission. The funds were formally handed over to Mrs. Shirani Dissanayake, Managing Director of the school.

We look forward to sharing photos from this heart-warming trip on our site as soon as we receive them from the principal. Stay tuned to witness the joy this trip has brought to the children!
